Pets
are Guests Too - FAQ
Dog Stuff…
We invite you and your pet to relax in our spacious, two-story
farmhouse and wander among our colorful gardens and lush
lawns. We welcome your pet with her/his own plush dog bed,
food bowl, water dispenser and a puppy basket full of yummy
treats. A large, fenced grassy paddock offers a clean, safe
place to romp and play.
So that all our guests (bipeds and quadrupeds alike) can
fully enjoy their visit at Glenn Country Inn, we offer the
following FAQs
for your information.
Q:
Where can I walk and play with my dog?
A: We have a large, fenced, grassy
paddock attached to the back lawns for puppy walking and
playing. Plastic bags are available to clean up after your
pet’s “walkies.” Or, you and your
pet can walk down the road, in the field behind the garage,
or on our walking trails in the woods surrounding the Inn.
Q: If
I want to go out for a few (or a lot) of hours without my
pet, where can I leave her?
A: We have an arrangement with a local
“Doggie Day Care Home” where your pet will get
personal attention, pleasant music, and friendly companions,
(as well as round trip pet taxi service to Doggie Care,
if desired) all for a nominal fee. Check with your hosts
about reservations, etc. "Pets are never allowed
to be left alone in any room,
at any time, for any reason. Pets are not allowed on any
furniture especially beds and please pick up after your
dogs." Cages may keep lonely dogs from damaging
carpets or furniture, but it won’t keep them from
disturbing other guests by barking (or whining piteously).
Q: Can
my pet friend have breakfast with us at the dining table?
A: Yes, pets can attend breakfast,
lunch or dinner with you in our pet friendly dining room.
Q:
My pet is very well trained and socialized. Can he roam
freely in the Inn without a leash?
A: Afraid not. Some guests may
be intimidated or fearful of dogs that are not under direct
control. We need to be sensitive to their concerns.
Q: What
about outside on the lawns?
A: Again, the rights of other guests
(two legged and four legged) have to be considered. Dogs
must be kept under leash control in all common areas. The
paddock is a great place to run free.
Q: What
if my dog forgets his manners and gets noisy, or is aggressive
toward other guests?
A: You may be asked to kennel
your pet if he challenges other pets, frightens or intimidates
other guests, or is a “barker.” If your dog
behaves in a dangerous or threatening manner, he may be
requested to leave the Inn.
You may stay, of course,
if you don’t bite or snarl or bark, but he probably
needs a ride home.
Notice
to all Pet owners:
If your pet causes damages to the
room or the common areas, a $250.00 cleaning/damage fee
may apply. Pet owners are totally responsible for the actions
and safety of their pets.
